During the Easter holidays, 77 Year 9 and 10 pupils from Norton Hill School will be travelling to Holland to take part in a Football and Netball festival. The two day festival, being organised by tour operator, Absolute Travel, will involve schools from all over the UK and includes coaching sessions by Premier League coaches and England netball coaches. Students will also be taking part in a variety of activities at the Centre Parcs resort in Eindhoven and spending the day at the world renowned Phastasialand theme park over the border in Germany as part of the tour.

The trip aims to reward Year 9 and 10 students for their outstanding commitment and attitude towards extra-curricular activities during their time at Norton Hill. Head of PE, Miss Hillier, said: “The tour provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to test their skills against tough opposition in a totally different environment, as well as rewarding them for their commitment to sport at Norton Hill.”

Pupils have been taking part in a variety of events to raise funds for sports kit and team wear, as well as to reduce the cost of their overall tour. Last weekend, the students were bag packing at Tesco in Midsomer Norton and this weekend, they will be taking part in a sponsored 10-hour Football and Netballathon. The PE staff and students would like to thank everyone who have supported the students in their fundraising quest, particularly members of the public, who gave so generously in Tesco on Saturday.
