Tabor Independent Methodist Church

It was a great pleasure to welcome Mr David Parker to our church again. We are always sure of a service interspersed with humorous accounts, which only accentuate his message.

Today’s thought of the day was: “Nothing of any value is ever lost.” David then went on to the theme of Christmas, with the message that Jesus was born to meet our needs, not our wants. Mr Malcolm Tucker read the lesson, and Mr David Carter operated the music system. At the commencement of the service, Mrs Margaret West lit the Advent Ring in memory of Mrs Louise Trubody, who dedicated it to Tabor in 2009.

The previous Friday saw the Tabor Ringers entertaining at the Age UK Lunch Club in Keynsham. As usual, they received a very warm welcome, with everyone joining in with the carols.

Tabor will be holding a traditional carol service at 3pm on December 21, presided over by Mr Eric Barge, with items from the Tabor Ringers. This will be followed by tea, coffee, and mince pies.

All are welcome at any of our services or events, details of which are on the noticeboard outside the church in North Road, Timsbury.

We had our worship on Sunday led by the chair of the district. With this being a busy time in the lead-up to Christmas, why not come and celebrate the birth of Jesus with us? Next Sunday, our traditional Christmas Carol Service will be held at 6pm and will be led by our Minister, Rev Andrew Prout.

On Sunday, December 21 we will celebrate with a morning carol service, when we sing the carols requested by the congregation. This act of worship commences at 10.30am and will be led by Mr Keith Elliott. On Christmas Day, we will be celebrating the birth of Jesus with a service led by Mike and Carole Martin, which will also begin at 10.30am. Come and join us for one or more services, we would be pleased to see you.

Our Wednesday coffee mornings will also continue, commencing at 10.30am for an hour.

Hope to see you soon.
