A popular rural school on the edge of the Somer Valley has launched a new initiative so more people can visit the school whenever they wish.
Shoscombe Church School, which over the past year has seen huge amounts of funding invested, new after-school clubs created and the opening of a new library; says prospective parents and members of the community are welcome to visit any day of the week.
Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said: “We are a school that is very much at the heart of the community.
“Our links with the church, parish council, residents’ groups and the village hall mean a lot to us.
“We want people living in Shoscombe, and beyond, to feel that this is their school, as well as it being for the children that attend here each day.
Our new Open Tours initiative means any day is an open day, all prospective visitors need to do is call the office!”
The focus for the school’s new term is ‘aspiration’, and many visitors will be stepping through the front door throughout January to help the children think about their future.
