On Wednesday, 20th October, Year 6 at Welton Primary took part in an ‘Evacuee Experience’ day.

Over the course of the day all children took part in dancing, darning and cooking and even got to experience a ‘ration’ lunch.

“I really learnt about how harsh it was to live in those times – how scarce their food supply was and it really wasn’t very tasty!” Connor, Year 6.

“I enjoyed darning the socks because I like sewing a lot and I find it great that you can fix broken things with just a thread and needle.” Joe, Year 6.

It was a brilliant day and staff and pupils alike had a good time!
