Could your very own iconic photograph or artwork feature on a new postcard for the local area?
Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum is launching a photography and
artwork competition to search for images of our iconic Volcano Coal Tip at Old Mills, Paulton.
Readers are able to enter as an adult, or as a child under-16, and the two
winning images (one from each age group), will be published on new postcards to represent the local area.
All of the entries will be displayed in an exhibition at the museum in June (dates to be confirmed, please keep an eye on the Museum’s website).
You can take a photograph (any size), or draw, paint, make a collage or make a needlework image of the Volcano Batch on an A4 sheet of paper or fabric.
Photographs can be emailed in large format to: Miranda Litchfield, Museum Development Coordinator, at: [email protected] or handed in or posted to the museum at the address below. Artwork can either be handed in at the museum’s front desk in person, or posted to: Miranda Litchfield, Radstock Museum, Waterloo Road, Radstock BA3 3EP.
Closing date for entries is 31st May 2017. Maximum two entries per person: giving you the opportunity to enter both a photograph and an artwork if you choose. Please
include your full name, your town or village (there are no restrictions on who can apply) and your age if under sixteen. These details will be clearly printed on the winning postcards, along with your image. Radstock Museum retains the right to print your
images, so please make sure you are aware of this before submitting your entries.
Artworks can be collected from the Museum at the end of the exhibition later in the summer. Regrettably, due to the potential volume of entrants, the Museum will be unable to post artworks back to their rightful owners.
