There was a packed hall for the opening night of Reel People Films new season at Kilmersdon Village Hall for the screening of Dream Horse on 20th October.

Sarah Fowler, the group’s secretary said: “We were absolutely delighted by the fantastic support from our members and people from the local area. There were lots of new faces, many of whom had read about the event in The Midsomer & Radstock Journal and other local community magazines. Everyone is welcome at Reel People events and there was a lovely feeling of people wanting to come together, meet friends, perhaps make some new ones and enjoy a real cinema experience.”

Reel People’s next film event in the season is on Friday, 10th November 2023 when the audience will be transported to a remote village in the Himalayas for the award winning, Lunana - A Yak in the Classroom (Cert PG, 1hr 50 mins, Subtitled).

The film gives a fascinating insight into life in the village through the eyes of a young teacher reluctantly sent to ‘the most remote school in the world’ - and yes, you guessed it, there is a resident Yak in the classroom. The scenery and cinematography are breathtaking, and the film is definitely one for the big screen.

As always, the hall doors and bar will open at 7.15pm and the film will start at 8pm prompt. Everyone is very welcome either as a guest for £6 payable on the door, or you can join us as a member for the remaining 7 films in the season for £30. Payment by card will be available.
