Last week’s Mystery Photograph was taken of Radstock Whitelands (Tyning).

Congratulations to: Paul Hancock, Tony Clarke, Simon Chard, Alan and Norma Norris, David Swift, Stella Doig, Gilmour Jones, Les Box and Hannah Selway, Peter Box, Dave Curtis, Ken Cottle, Andrea Watts, Roy Barnes, Val Rogers, Grant Johnson, Robert Brailsford, Jo Green, Valerie Rogers, Terry Lintern, Angela Roberts and Colin Button.

Many thanks to Richard Edwards who said: “This week’s Mystery Photograph shows Upper and Lower Whitelands in Radstock. I think the shorter terrace (since demolished) at the top of the picture was Upper Whitelands, whilst the two extremely long terraces are Lower Whitelands, still very much with us. I believe they were built for the miners of the nearby Tyning Colliery. The Somerset and Dorset Railway ran along the foot of the gardens of the lower terrace.”

Thank you to Helen Gulliford for kindly supplying this week’s Mystery Photograph. Can you guess where it is? Please get in touch with your answers on: [email protected], call: 01761 258030.
