Amongst the runners at the last meeting of Wincanton racecourse was a horse called Kristal Hart which is owned by some of the regulars of The White Hart, Frome, who formed a racing syndicate to own the horse which is called Kristal Hart. They are called The White Hart Racing Syndicate which is quite remarkable as all of the members would be called locals of the pub and in deed they all live in the village.

This horse was bought by Georgie Symes with the intention of riding her as an eventer. Georgie, an experienced horse woman, quickly realised that she would be better suited to racing and knowing that the landlord, Graeme Barry, was keen to have a racehorse, spoke to him. The idea was then floated at the pub and a group, all from the village, decided to give it a go.

The members who were at the racecourse last week to watch Kristal Hart running in The Lycetts Bloodstock Insurance Mares’ Hurdle race had a wonderful day and saw her come home in second place, just half a length behind the winner.

One of the original group that formed the syndicate four years ago, John Hill, never saw Kristal Hart run. The rest of the syndicate have enjoyed some great racing and this season alone, have been placed third at Lingfield and Wolverhampton and second at Wincanton. She is trained by Neil Mulholland at Limpley Stoke who has no future entries for her a present.
