David Watts, from Ston Easton has, with Lyn Addicott, also from Ston Easton, organised various events in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The events have been varied and a fantastic £10,600 has been raised at events during the past year’s winter months.

Some of these were an auction of promises, raffle, and a cheese and wine event at Ston Easton Park Hotel. This was sponsored by local cheese producers, Alvis Bros and Pullens Cave Aged Cheese, with the wine generously sponsored by Perold Wine Cellar at Rookery Farm, Binegar.

The cheque was presented to retired Consultant Urologist at the RUH, Graham Howell, who has a specificinterest in urological cancers. He explained that the treatment is constantly evolving, particularly for prostate cancers and these are driven by research which is funded by donations.

David said: “I would like to thank everyone who has supported all the events to help us raise such a large amount of money. So many men could fall victim to this particular cancer.

“Together we can help to fight it.”
