It’s not too late to enter this year’s Town Show! Midsomer Norton Fayre will celebrate the town’s local creativity with the fifth edition of the event, this Saturday 14th July.
The show features over sixty categories across six broad sections covering cookery, vegetables, flowers, art, photography, handicrafts and much more. There’s also a special section for children with a range of tasks, including designing sock puppets, painted plates and LEGO models. Winners of the individual sections will get to take home one of the coveted trophies on offer.
Entries will be received at this year’s Fayre on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and then again on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. The entries will then be on display to the public from 12.30 p.m., alongside the results, before the grand presentation at 4.30 p.m.
The event is at the heart of the town’s Fayre, which runs from 12 noon until 5 p.m. in Gullock Tyning, the Somer Centre and the new Town Park. As well as the Town Show, there are many other activities taking place, including the Maypole festival, Brass Band performances, Punch and Judy, bouncy castles, puppet shows, helter skelter, music and art workshops, displays, community market stalls and much, much more.
