Midsomer Norton Town Council approved a £5,000 grant on Monday evening to fund a project run by Julian House, helping families affected by domestic violence.

The decision comes after a representative from Midsomer Norton Children’s Centre spoke at a meeting earlier this year, appealing to the Town Council to help do something to curb the alarming rise in reported incidents in the area, arguing that whilst there was a project in Bath, something was needed closer to home for those seeking help. The grant will mean that the twelve-week programme will be able to run fully costed for local

families in need.
