Landlords are being urged to come forward to house eight rough sleepers this winter amid fears about the spread of the Omicron variant.

The most common reason homeless people give not to get a Covid-19 jab is having nowhere to rest if they suffer the flu-like symptoms it often causes.

To tackle the issue, B&NES Council is reaching out to landlords with self-contained properties available after securing £122,000 to cover their costs this winter.

The funding will cover rent and utilities and full support will be in place to ensure the residents’ safety, wellbeing and ability to look after the accommodation.

Landlords who may be able to offer accommodation are asked to contact: [email protected] or call: 07813 401903.
