Over 4,800 babies are born every year at The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust (RUH), either at the Bath Birthing Centre at the RUH’s Combe Park site, Birth Centres in Paulton, Frome, Trowbridge, Chippenham, or at home. The Trust is currently looking at the maternity services it provides for women and families, both now and in the future.
Amanda Gell, Senior Midwifery Matron at the RUH, says: “We know choosing where to have your baby is a big decision, and our aim is that all women and families in our care have a positive birth experience. To help us in our planning for the future, we want to understand what matters most to those who use our services. We’re really keen to hear from as many people as possible.”
The Trust is holding a friendly, informal discussion group on Monday, 27th February from 1 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. at Victoria Hall, Radstock (BA3 3QG). Women and families who have used the RUH’s maternity services, as well as individuals or groups who have a special interest in pregnancy, birth and postnatal care, are welcome to attend.
Babies and young children are welcome, however, crèche facilities are not available. Please email: [email protected] to book a space.
An online survey is also available for those unable to attend the group session at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Maternitytogether or you can share your views via email: [email protected]
Amanda adds: “It’s really early days in the process, but we have a great opportunity to take a fresh look at what we are offering. We are committed to providing high quality care, provided by the right combination of staff in an appropriate environment and we need your help to understand what this could look like for the mothers and families we support.”
