Mendip Gardening Club's speaker last month, was David Usher.
David introduced us to the various types of herbaceous plants and how they cope with over wintering, and come back to delight us the following spring. He started with practical advice on tubers and corms and demonstrated cutting back techniques.
We then enjoyed an illustrated tour around a range of gardens, giving lots of suggestions to improve the colour and structure in our borders. David invited the audience to ask questions as he talked, leading to a lively interaction of ideas.
Members enjoyed the new format of the evening, with refreshments, plant stall, Terry's topical tips and a raffle with a difference!
Our speaker this month, is Ollie Jones from the Ammerdown Centre. Ollie will be talking about all things organic, including the Centre's magnificent compost heaps! Feel tempted to come along?
We will be at Ston Easton Village Hall BA3 4DA on Wednesday November 16th. The hall is open from 7pm ready for a 7.30pm start.
A warm welcome waits members and visitors alike. See you on the 16th.
