Writhlington Sports Centre have been enjoying a fun week of fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness, with activities continuing into Monday, 28th October. The grand total raised was £563.72!
Parents donated 50p for their children to wear pink to all their sports classes for the week, with some Coaches taking part too and a cake sweepstake being sold all week.
On Friday, 25th October, all staff paid £1 to wear pink for the day, as well as a gym challenge running in the evening, with customers paying £1 to see how many press-ups they could do in one minute and a Party in Pink Zumbathon, run by Bev Nichols, which saw the whole class donning some fabulous pink outfits, dancing and whooping to some of their favourite Zumba tunes.
A huge cake sale was held on Saturday, organised by Marianne Veater and Kira Harding in the tennis centre. Great fun was had by all, whilst raising money for a fabulous cause very close to our hearts.
