Radstock Museum’s Christmas Fayre, the free, sparkling annual event, will be taking place at the Museum this Saturday, 10th December from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Curator and Manager, Nick Turner, The Friends of Radstock Museum and the museum’s volunteers extend a very warm welcome to you all. The museum will be filled with thirty stalls offering quality festive gifts, a raffle and tombola.

Local artist, Ian Piff, will provide Christmas musical entertainment during the morning and Farrington Gurney Primary School will perform in the afternoon. The museum shop will be open, with a selection of beautiful gifts, plus books on local history and walks to buy; authors, Sue Gearing and Les Davies, will be in the museum shop signing copies of their book, Miles More Mendips, detailing ten local circular walks. The new 2017 Radstock Museum ‘Annual Gift Cards” are also available, making very affordable and lovely gifts for friends and family, giving them free access to the museum and its changing exhibitions all year. There are also stocking filler toys, reproduction, vintage branded food tins and lots more.

Once you have all your Christmas shopping in the bag, take the weight off your feet and enjoy hot and cold drinks and delicious cakes in the tearoom.

The fayre is organised by the ‘Friends of Radstock Musuem’, a dedicated committee of volunteers who organise fundraising events for the museum throughout the year. They are looking to recruit helpers to be called up from time to time to assist with events they organise, such as donating raffle prizes or food for buffets at quiz nights, through to bigger jobs such as helping run a stall at one of the many village days in the summer.

You can do as much or as little as you want to fit in with your life schedule. If you are interested in becoming a member of ‘The Friends’, raising essential funds for the museum, then please email: [email protected], telephone 01761 437722 or call into the museum shop when it is open on 10th December between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., or on Saturday, 17th December, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and ask for a form to fill in.

Other than the Christmas Fayre and the shop being open on 17th December, the museum is now closed until February, when it re-opens with a full programme of events and talks, plus the latest exhibition will be on display. For more information on all of these items, visit: www.radstockmuseum.co.uk
