Rev. David Izzard took his first service at St Nicholas Church, Radstock, following his Induction and Licensing at the church on 28th November.
A wide range of church and community representatives were there to welcome him and his wife, Lorraine, into the two parishes. Since then, he has conducted a Carol
Service for 1st Radstock Scout Group, a Candlelight Carol Service with the Mendip Brass Band, as well as getting settled in to the regular business of leading and running the two parishes of Radstock and Kilmersdon.
His appointment has come at a busy time in the church calendar, and he has continued to remind us of the true message of Christmas, with a challenge to the children to remember just whose birthday it is when they open their presents on Christmas morning.
St Nicholas will be holding a range of services to suit all the family. On the 24th, Christmas Eve, there will be a Crib Service at 3 p.m., when all the children present are encouraged to become part of the Christmas story. It is hoped that this year there will be a real baby playing the part of Jesus. 11.30 p.m.
celebrates Midnight Mass, with the sharing of the Holy Communion in the first hour of Christmas Morning. A Family Communion Service will be held at 10 a.m. on the 25th. Kilmersdon Church also has a number of services over the next few weeks. All are welcome to join us.
