JW Waste Recycling is a family-run, local business, invested in our city and surrounding areas. Our company motto is ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’, and since our set-up in 2006, our goal is to be 100% diversion from landfill. Since our move to our larger premises, we are now even closer to achieving this goal. This means we are committed to finding alternative, greener solutions to our waste disposal, and committed to reducing our usage of natural resources.

With the changes to the Council’s domestic waste collection, (which came into effect on 6th November 2017), JW Waste Recycling are concerned about the effects these changes will have on our area.

In brief, the Council has reduced its weekly collection of domestic waste from once every week to once every two weeks. Each household has also been issued with a new, 140-litre wheelie bin or designated reusable rubbish sack.

All waste to be collected by the Council must be inside either of these two containers.

This now means that any rubbish not able to fit into these designated containers will be uncollected by the Council.

Although we support the Council’s efforts to encourage recycling amongst Bath and North East Somerset’s residences, the obvious concerns that we have are households with waste sitting outside, or in the street, creating health and safety hazards in terms of access, and the risk of increased vermin.

JW Waste Recycling is leading the way in residential waste and recycling collection, with a cost-effective and reliable service, helping homes combat the Council cutbacks in their waste disposal services, picking up where the Council may now fall short.

We are collecting residential domestic waste every two weeks, in-between the Council’s collection. Customers are able to purchase a roll of pre-paid waste sacks or wheelie bin and benefit from a free and efficient collection of any

excess domestic waste.

We will also collect any cardboard recycling for free with this service.
