Ston Easton Park, Ston Easton, Radstock BA3 4DF, is open for the last time this year in aid of The National Gardens Scheme on Wednesday, 28th September, 10.30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

This garden has been described as a hidden treasure in the heart of the Mendips, do come and see for yourself. September is a very productive month, especially in the Victorian Kitchen Garden, which has been planted with unusual vegetable seed. Harvesting of apples from long gone varieties, the loofah harvest and hopefully this year, the root vegetables will once again be the biggest grown for miles around, 2015 was a good year for the gardeners who won prizes at Malvern Autumn Show with them.

Walk through the start of the glorious autumnal colours of the parkland; admire the cyclamen and the historic Repton landscape along the quietly cascading River Norr. Maybe a more invigorating walk through the wooded parkland to the old Ice House appeals, maps are available for guidance. The terrain is unsuitable for those with mobility restrictions due to gravel paths, grassed walks and steep slopes.

The superb Palladian Mansion, set in one of the West Country’s most romantic estates, Ston Easton Park, warmly welcomes visitors to The National Gardens Scheme open day to pop inside for light refreshments and to enjoy the splendid rooms, no booking required for light refreshments, which are served all day in the hotel.
