The pace was slower, nobody was racing around in their cars as there was nowhere to go, people strolled along the pavements with their dogs, toddlers being dragged along by fraught parents as they rushed to get older children to school ceased. I think some lessons could be learned from that, life is precious and each moment should be savoured.

I have myself been guilty of cramming so much into my day, that there is actually no time to really enjoy the current activity before it is time to move on to the next.

As the song goes “ savour each sensation” seems to be very true and relevant – personally I am aware that “being alive” is vastly different from “living your life”.

One of my favourite sayings has to be “love the life you live and live the life you love” – that sums things up perfectly for me. We are only on this earth for a relatively short time and we should endeavour to enjoy the world that God has given to us and the abundant life which he would have us enjoy. Let’s do it!
