Local Lions have been busy raising money in the village and beyond. You may have seen us out with the Christmas Float, or tried to win the giant Easter Eggs in the pubs.
As every penny given is given back, it was time for Peasedown to benefit from some of the money that Peasedown residents have generously given local Lions for good causes.
Lions are aware that many families with children struggle to make ends meet, resulting in more and more children missing out when school trips and activities come around every year. So, this time, they donated £300 to the primary school to help towards this. Lions Margaret and Sarah popped into the school on Wednesday to hand over the cheque.
The next Lions event in the village is on Saturday, 21st July – a Fun day to Swap, sell and donate at the Peasedown St John Youth Hub. We are holding a Jumble sale for bargain hunters and a Swap shop where you can swap your old stuff and come away with something new or you may want to swap a skill e.g a day of gardening in exchange for helping write a CV – the list is endless. Or you might want to book a table to hold your own sale and turn your old stuff into instant cash. We need donations of clean clothes and bric a brac and the Youth club and will be open on Friday 20th July 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. to accept your donations for the Jumble sale on the 21st.
