The Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club have helped to kick-start fundraising for the redecoration of playrooms for local children's charity, the Wansdyke Play Association, with a cheque for £500.

The Wansdyke Play Association (WPA), are a local, voluntary sector organisation with a reputation, both locally and nationally, for positive work to support the development of communities through playschemes.

Their mission is to empower local communities through provision of quality play services which include Community Play Rangers, Holiday Playschemes, Inclusive After School Clubs and young people's activities and clubs. Several activities are run with ongoing provision for five to nineteen-year-olds. The WPA's work on community empowerment is for all ages.

The organisation work across the region with events and playschemes taking place in Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Westfield, Peasedown St John, Frome and Keynsham.
