Members of the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club will be offering their services at this year’s Party in the Park community festival in Peasedown St John. The Lions, who have raised tens of thousands of pounds for good causes in the area over the last forty years, have teamed up with event organisers to help the day run smoothly in the village on 11th June.
Over 2,500 people are expected to attend the event which will see live music at Party in the Park, as part of HM The Queen’s official 90th Birthday celebrations, which has been organised by a team of local residents. However, the size of the crowds expected means plenty of volunteers have been recruited to act as stewards. Party in the Park Co-Volunteer Manager, Tom Benyon, said: “The local Lions Club has agreed to offer their services and help with stewarding at our event. With the Lions’ help, forty hours of volunteer time as gate marshals will be covered at our festival this year.”
Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club Membership Chairman, Colin Marsh, added: “We are extremely pleased to be supporting Peasedown’s 8th Party in the Park Festival this year. With our new branch soon to be set up in the village, we could see no better way to get involved with the Peasedown community than volunteer at Party in the Park.”
Party in the Park officially starts at 12 noon on Saturday, 11th June on Beacon Field - with festivities running until 7 p.m.
