Fans of live music are in for a treat, as Midsomer Norton’s annual M-Fest returns to the High Street this year for an afternoon and evening full of impressive, local talent.

Taking place on Saturday, 13th July, M-Fest boasts seven live acts, with DJ sets in between to provide a full day of non-stop music. The event, which is organised by the Community Trust, is free and family-friendly, and is located in Midsomer Norton High Street by the Cenotaph.

Since 2016, M-Fest has become an annual day-festival, showcasing talented artists from the area and further afield, with an emphasis on providing a platform for younger, original groups.

Returning to headline the festival after their performance in 2016 are Bath’s Ulysses, a ‘70s-influenced psychedelic rock band who have received praise in major publications such as The Guardian, Shindig! and Classic Rock Magazine.

In main support, performing for the first ever time in Midsomer Norton, is singing-drummer extraordinaire, Joe Probert, who has been riding a wave of hype for some time now in the Bristol music scene and nationwide.

Joining them are Cheltenham rock band, Cupcake Diaz and the Felt-Tip Pens, popular Frome noise-rockers, Ghost of the Avalanche, Brighton university post-punk band Swanmeat (who feature a familiar face in Dan Cox of M-Fest regulars, Guts), and Midsomer Norton’s own Keith Horler and Psychic Junk – all making their M-Fest debut.

Rounding off the evening once again will be Ali Sykes and his Stack-Up Sound System.

Midsomer Norton Community Trust Manager, Alex Davis, said: “We’re all really pleased that we can once again showcase so much original and local talent in Midsomer Norton. It seems to be harder than ever for bands to find somewhere to perform in the area, so it is great to still see so many acts coming through. The day promises to be a real celebration of music.”

M-Fest 2019 will take place on Saturday, 13th July from 12.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
