A holistic day spa near Chilcompton has launched a package of new

holistic treatments suitable for people going through cancer treatment.

Emilia and Caroline at Mowhay, based at Manor Farm, have recently undergone extensive training to be able to deliver the Tender Tides treatments to support people with cancer and give them a chance to relax and feel pampered and cared for.

Mowhay owner, Emilia, says: “Our Tender Tides rituals are a much-needed addition to our holistic offerings, where any of our clients who are living with cancer can expect a safe, effective and organic experience with us during any stage of their treatment.”

As part of their new body treatment programme, the ladies are offering four wellbeing rituals, including facials and body experiences. The treatments incorporate the natural healing power of organic seaweed which restores moisture to dry and irritated skin that has been affected by Radiation, Chemotherapy, Targeted therapy or other cancer treatments.

The plan long term is to use some of the income from the treatments to fund a number of treatments each year for people who cannot afford it. Hopefully this will become a reality by linking up to local charities.

Holistic Health Mentor Maria Honeker, who had stage III cancer a few years ago, has trialled a couple of the treatments. She says: “I think this is a brilliant initiative which will be much welcomed by people living with cancer and beyond. I remember going to spas with friends during my chemotherapy treatment and it was always so disappointing being told I couldn’t have any of the treatments and join in with everyone else.”
