Sun Chemical, in Midsomer Norton, is again taking part in a Christmas Shoebox Appeal, this year for the Genesis Trust, in Bath, which works with people struggling with everyday life, mainy as a result of homelessness, addiction, poverty or a disability.

As well as staff taking part in the initiative, the company is extending the invitation to members of the community to take part. Anyone interested can collect an empty shoebox for filling by contacting Kim Wallace on: 01761 408576 or Debbie Plummer on: 01761 408520, arranging a time to drop it back in, unsealed, so that the box can be checked.

Items to include in the shoeboxes include hats, scarves, gloves, socks, toothbrush and toothpaste, baby wipes, hair brushes, razors, shower gel, sanitary towels, a torch, sweets, new or excellent condition blanket, jumper or thermals. Please indicate if your shoebox is for a male or female recipient.

Sun Chemical is a member of the DIC group and is one of the leading producers of

printing inks and other applications. Their site, based in Midsomer Norton, employs around 180 staff and recently formed a Wellbeing committee for both workers and to offer local support within the community.
