After the tremendous success of Writhlington Leisure’s Dance show in February 2016, that saw young dancers raise almost £4,000 for Women versus Cancer, the children are taking to the stage again to raise funds for VisionPLUS, as well as their own dance programme.

‘Shall We Dance’ will take place on Saturday, 10th and Sunday, 11th June at the Prospect Theatre, Writhlington, and will see over 100 children take to the stage to perform for family and friends.

This year, they will be supporting VisionPLUS, a charity that reaches out to support people and families with impaired vision. They provide social clubs, running groups, guide dogs and equipment for the visually impaired. As well as VisionPLUS, some of the funds raised will be reinvested back into the dance programme run by the Writhlington Trust to help widen opportunities for local children.

One of the organisers said: “We are so excited to be doing another show, we now have more children to organise, which adds extra pressure, but it’s great to know our programme is growing. Children love the excitement of dancing on stage, and I’m proud that our programme can offer such opportunities for children.’’
