Employees from a Midsomer Norton-based print company are getting on their bikes to help support a local charity working to support sick children and their families in hospital.
Integrity Print is fielding a team of seventeen riders at popular cycling sportive Bike Bath to help raise funds for local charity Time is Precious. The charity was established in Midsomer Norton by Neil and Nicky Halford in memory of their son Ben, who sadly died from cancer in 2010.
The company, which employs more than 300 people, is hoping to raise a minimum of £2,500 which will go towards purchasing equipment and refurbishing areas in hospitals in Bristol, Bath and Yeovil.
Organised by cycling experts Iconic Cycling Events and championed by national property developer Redrow Homes, the seventh Bike Bath will take place on Sunday, 1st July. The sportive expects to welcome over 1,500 riders from across the region.
The event will start and end at the Rec in the heart of Bath. Riders will have the choice of three new rides this year – the 25-mile social, or the fifty or eighty-mile challenge. Riders will also enjoy some of the region’s finest food and drink at food stations along the routes and a celebratory pint of Bath Ale at the finish.
Andrew Law, sales and marketing director at Integrity Print, commented: “As a major local employer it is important to us that we engage with the local community, and we’re delighted to be fundraising for this important local charity. The family and trustees are well known to many of our employees, so the charity is very close to our hearts.
“I originally took part in Bike Bath in 2017 and after a fantastic day, recommended it to colleagues. It has now snowballed so that we’re fielding a seventeen-strong team. We are all really looking forward to taking in the stunning scenery of Bath and Somerset and enjoying delicious food and drink. I have my fingers crossed that the weather smiles on us.”
Richard Best, CEO of Iconic Cycling Events, said: “Bike Bath has always been an event focused on supporting deserving local causes, so I am delighted that the team from Integrity Print is raising money for the Time is Precious charity. Without dedicated local businesses like Integrity Print, charities would have a much harder time raising the funds they need to support residents in the region.”
