The Midsomer Norton RUH Fundraising Group had a fantastic time cycling for The Forever Friends Appeal, the primary fundraising charity for the Royal United Hospital (RUH), Bath.

On 11th February, the group completed another of its Charity Spinathon Challenges at Tesco in Keynsham. Proceeds from these fundraising events will be donated to the RUH Cancer Care Campaign – helping to build a pioneering new Cancer

Centre at the hospital.

The group cycled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a handful of volunteers taking turns on the bike. As generous shoppers watched and donated, the team sweated their way to making an amazing £657.72!

This is a local group of volunteers who have come together to do something really special to help those affected by cancer. They meet once a month at Welton Rovers Football Club in Midsomer Norton to organise fundraising activities around the local area.

The group is looking for more members to help them raise even more funds towards this worthwhile cause. If you would like to find out more about the group and how you can get involved,

contact Claudia Hickin, Community Fundraiser at The Forever Friends Appeal, on: 01225 825825 or: [email protected]

Claudia commented: “The Midsomer Norton RUH Fundraising Group are absolutely fantastic and we are so grateful for their dedicated support to the Cancer Care Campaign. Despite being a small group, they are hardworking and committed and achieve amazing things. It’s exciting to see what else they will achieve in 2017!”

Next up is a Ladies Pamper Evening, with no need to go to London for Fashion week! Welton Rovers Football Club will be hosting a Fashion display during the evening on Friday, 10th March. What will Big Ted be modelling? Come along and find out! There will be stalls, taster fitness classes, angel card readings, Avon and Ann Summers.

Tickets are available from Welton Rovers or Carol Curtis on: 07932 497786.
