Kilver Court Gardens in Shepton Mallet will open as part of the National Garden Scheme.

The Scheme was set up to open privately owned gardens in England and Wales to raise money for charities. Founder of the scheme, set up in 1927, said the aim was to ‘open gardens of quality, character and interest to the public for charity.’

Kilver Court Gardens, local to Shepton Mallet will open their doors on Thursday, 10th September from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Last entry into the garden is 3.15 p.m.  Should you wish to have refreshments, during these changing times, please ask prior to going into the gardens the closing time of the restaurant and café.  Kilver Court generously donate their NGS days to the charities we support.

Saturday, 12th September, College Barn at Benter BA3 5BJ, an ecological country garden in Somerset, opens from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This garden was started six years ago from rough meadow land and draws upon its surroundings of meadows and woodlands. 

Naturalistic planting of perennials in large blocks with ornamental grasses are thriving in the newly created environment.

The intimate walled garden provides vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit for the family.

Entry to both gardens is by pre paid tickets available from the NGS website from Monday, 7th September.
