Thatcher + Hallam are pleased to announce their sponsorship of Somer Valley Food bank for their 2023 / 2024 Charity of the Year.

Somer Valley Foodbank provide drop off points throughout Midsomer Norton and local villages for people who are in crisis and have been referred to the foodbank for assistance.

Lauren Martin, Associate and Marketing Manager at Thatcher + Hallam says: “We are proud to sponsor the Somer Valley Foodbank at a time when many people are at crisis point. We fully support Somer Valley Foodbank’s work in our local community, not only by providing food donations but also resources and information to people needing the foodbank, to help them back onto their feet.

“We very much look forward to supporting Somer Valley Foodbank with volunteering, running food donation drives within the firm, inviting the general public to make donations through our firm and fundraising – there has even been talk of one of our staff doing a sponsored wing-walk!’.

We asked Jane Street, Treasurer of Somer Valley Foodbank, what the sponsorship means to her, she said: “We are thrilled that Thatcher + Hallam are supporting us and that we have been chosen as their Charity of the Year.

“Our main aims are to increase the amount of food donations from our monthly donations ‘wanted’ list which you can find on the Somer Valley Foodbank website. Thatcher + Hallam have kindly agreed to become a drop off point for food donations in Midsomer Norton, alongside our usual donation point at the Salvation Army in Midsomer Norton, St Nicholas Church Café in Radstock and St John’s Methodist Church in Peasedown St John.”

After raising money, volunteering and even sky diving for last years’ Charity of the Year we at The Journal look forward to seeing what the staff at Thatcher + Hallam will be up to next! If you are interested in keeping up with their Charities news, you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

If you would like to make any food donations, you can do so by coming in to the Reception at Thatcher + Hallam’s offices at The Island.
