THE Midsomer Norton Brownies unit has celebrated the 60th anniversary since it held the first meeting in the area.

The celebrations, which took place on May 12, saw members of the youth group enjoy party games and design and decorate their own cakes.

Furthermore, as part of one of their Brownie badge challenges, they all learnt how to strike a match so they could light a candle each as part of one of their Brownie badge challenges.

The Brownies meet every Wednesday during term time at the local district Guiding Hall at Rock Hall after their previous meeting place of the Salvation Army Hall in Midsomer Norton was sold last year.
