YOUNG voices filled the air as a Midsomer Norton primary school took on the long trip to Birmingham to take part in a concert comprising thousands of voices.
The rafters of the BP Pulse Arena shook as the choir of St John’s C of E Primary School, Midsomer Norton, joined a massive chorus of thousands for the annual Young Voices concert.
Trading the quiet halls of their local school for the grand stage of one of the UK’s premier entertainment venues, the pupils found themselves at the heart of a spectacular musical showcase.
As part of one of the largest school choir gatherings in the country, the children moved from spectators to stars, contributing their voices to an immense wall of sound that defined the evening.
A spokesperson for the Young Voices tour, describes the event as: “We’re proud to host the largest children’s choir concerts in the world, bringing together primary schools from across the UK in a truly electrifying experience.
“Through these unforgettable events, children discover their voices, grow in confidence, and feel part of something extraordinary – all while inspiring a lifelong love of music.”
From the first soundcheck to the final encore, the atmosphere within the arena was said to be nothing short of electric.
For many of the young singers, it was their first time performing in a professional stadium environment, a milestone that provided equal parts adrenaline and inspiration.
"Performing in such a huge venue was an exciting and inspiring experience," noted school representatives. Despite the scale of the event, the St John’s choir remained unfazed by the bright lights and capacity crowds.
With the echoes of the arena still ringing in their ears, the St John's choir has certainly set a high bar for its next performance.
