During the period June 2012 – June 2013, Stardust Majorettes, whose four teams train at Chilcompton Village Hall and Writhlington Sports Centre, were honoured to be chosen as the local Charity of the Year by Sainsbury's' Midsomer Norton branch.
The store's staff and the majorettes jointly held a number of events throughout the twelve months, including in-store bag packing, stalls at the Midsomer Norton Christmas Fayre, tombolas and raffles. An incredible £1,086.07 was raised.
The money raised will make a real difference and will help make some very dedicated girls, who are trying to achieve their dreams, very happy. The money raised will be put towards much-needed competition batons, new training poms and carnival accessories for the upcoming 2013 season. Stardust Committee and Majorettes would like to thank all of the staff at Sainsbury's, Midsomer Norton, for their hard work and to Sainsbury's customers for being so generous with their donations.
