On Sunday, 17th November, about thirty family and friends met at Radstock Miners’ Wheel and walked to Dorothy House in Winsley, in memory of Marie Preston.
Marie spent her final days at Dorothy House before she sadly passed away on July 22nd after suffering with motor neurone disease.
Family and friends took part in the walk to say a massive thank you to the staff, who were truly amazing in giving her the care she truly deserved.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to Derrick and Sue Clarke from the Waldegrave Arms in Chewton Mendip, who kindly organised a quiz night in which they raised £700. Thanks to WAGS (Westfield allotments and Garden Society) and the staff at Optima Products in Radstock, with Paul and Juliet, A.David and Co and Heather Ruston, for helping with refreshments for the walkers.
Thank you also to everyone who took part and kindly donated money, as we have managed to raise £2,400 all together, with donations still coming in. Jason Preston
