At last week’s rehearsal Peter Beaven said goodbye to the members of the Mendip Male Voice Choir, as he is relocating to be near his son and grandchildren.
Peter said: “lt has been a great pleasure and privilege to be part of the group, I will miss members for their fellowship and camaraderie.”
He went on to say that he feels the choir is performing at a level we wouldn’t have expected and that’s thanks to Musical Director, Jamie Knights and pianist, Phil Evry.
Secretary Eric Baldwin said: “Peter joined the Choir in 2007, he rose rapidly through the ranks, becoming section leader of the first tenors and Chairman in 2014, a position he held for a total of fourteen years respectively, seven as Chairman.
“Peter has been a real asset to the choir, having a good voice and an amazing ability to be calm in the face of different opinions; it goes without saying Peter, you will be greatly missed.”
Eric presented Peter with an inscribed tankard from the choir.
