Rev Robinson said “Methodist ministers do move around the country as part of their itinerant ministry. I have been here for ten years which is actually longer than normal. I’ve discovered I’m the second longest serving Minister in the history of Midsomer Norton Methodist Church which proves that point.”

As well as serving the people of the Church and all its many activities, Stephen has also been involved in many aspects of the community. He has served as School Governor at Longvernal, Midsomer Norton Primary and Norton Hill Primary; as Town Council Chaplain; led services in a number of local care homes; and been a chaplain at Glastonbury Festival. He has also conducted many baptisms, weddings and funerals of local people.

“I’ve very much enjoyed being part of the community. The Church is more than the building on the High Street, it is a witness to Jesus wherever we find ourselves.”

He will be moving to St James Road Methodist Church in Southampton where he begins on September 1st, saying: “I’m looking forward to a new challenge and a new area in which to serve God but I will always remember Midsomer Norton as a friendly place.”

His last service at Midsomer Norton will be on Sunday, 24th July at 9.30am and all are welcome.
