Returning for the second time to MSN & Radstock Inner Wheel Club was guest speaker, Linda Dowsett, to entertain members with her ‘Love on the Nile’ trip.

Three years ago, Linda’s husband, Gordon, passed away, and with donations in his memory she bought and paid for the training of a Guide Dog puppy that she aptly called Gordon.

Since then, via her talks, donations and fund-raising events, Linda has been able to buy three more guide dogs, and another is on its way. She takes great interest in the dogs’ training and the welfare of both them and the people who receive them as a lifeline, and alongside keeps the memory of her husband alive.

Linda’s funny and self-deprecating anecdotes about the exploitative locals that she met in destinations on her Nile journey raised loud laughter from her audience, who related the stories to their own vulnerabilities in similar situations.

Her ability to leave her audience with a feel-good factor will see Linda returning to the club for a third time next year, with more amusing tales from her varied experiences.
