MORE than 100 women from across the Chew Valley and surrounding villages came together in March for two sold-out Women Who Lift Women community evenings at Chew Kitchen.

The events highlighted a strong local appetite for connection, practical support and opportunities to discover female-led businesses.

Following their success a third consecutive sell-out evening will take place on May 11 at Chew Kitchen, focusing on mental wellbeing and confidence in midlife, topics many attendees said they were keen to explore further.

Becky Smith, founder of Women Who Lift Women, said: “Across the first two evenings we welcomed more than 100 women, which really shows how keen Chew Valley women are to get together and support each other - and the brilliant female-led businesses we have locally.

“It’s been incredibly encouraging to see how quickly the community has formed.”

The upcoming May event will feature a panel discussion with local wellbeing specialists Dr Kirstie Fleetwood Meade, Rachel Joshi and Mariko Broome, exploring anxiety, burnout, confidence and identity in midlife.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet local practitioners offering practical support approaches on the evening. Together, they reflect the growing network of female-led wellbeing support available across the Chew Valley.

Support for the May event includes returning sponsor Chew Valley Pet Hub, alongside new sponsors Yoga Chew Valley and The Pottery Chew Valley, highlighting continued backing from local female-led businesses as the community grows.

Following strong interest from attendees and local businesses, further Women Who Lift Women evenings are now being planned for the summer and beyond. Discussions are also underway about hosting a future event in North Somerset, reflecting growing interest outside the Chew Valley.
