Dozens of roads across Bath are set to close to days at a time in 2022 to allow for utilities work and resurfacing.
Here is a roundup – but bear in mind that the council is still unable to say when Cleveland Bridge will fully reopen and Councillor Manda Rigby said ongoing the repairs could impact on other planned maintenance and events.

Ambury/Corn Street – Wessex Water will resume work to install new sewer mains in front of Julian House and at the exit from Avon Street car park from January 4 to 11
York Street – B&NES Council will carry out carriageway resurfacing from January 4 to March 31
Charlcombe Lane – Wessex Water will shut Charlcombe Lane from January 5 to 7 for a new connection at Opp Dale Cottage
Church Lane, Widcombe – Wessex Water will shut the road to make repairs from January 5 to 7
Wellsway – crews will use stop/go boards while they repair ironwork by Oolite Grove from January 5 to 7
Newbridge Road – hand lay patching will take place between January 5 and 7.
Broad Street – Virgin Media will close a lane on January 9
Lansdown Road – Openreach will have two-way signals in place during the morning on January 9
Widcombe Hill – Openreach will shut the road from January 10 to 12
Lower Bristol Road – traffic will operate on two-way signals from January 10 to 18 due to work carried out by Western Power Distribution
Upper Bristol Road – Wales & West Utilities Ltd will be carrying out work on January 23
Lower Bristol Road – delays are likely on January 26 and 27 as Network Rail carries work near River Place
Summer Lane – the road will close on January 26 and 27 so Wessex Water can repair a defect near the junction with Church Road
Cleveland Bridge – according to Travel Somerset the repairs will continue to operate on two-way signals until January 31, although the council is yet to confirm how long the work will take. A separate post on the website says are likely until June 30.
Hillside Road – resurfacing work will see the road close from January 31 to February 4 and from February 16 to 18
Moorfields Road – the road will close for resurfacing from February 1 to 8, and again from February 18 to 21
Lymore Avenue – a road closure will be in place from February 2 to 4 while Wessex Water adds a new connection
Banwell Road – the road will close from February 4 to 10 for resurfacing
Ferry Lane – Network Rail will close the lane on February 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27
Lower Bristol Road – two-way signals will control traffic by the Mero Retail Park while Wessex Water fixes a defect on February 6
Box Road – a contraflow system will be in place from the Box roundabout to allow for an upgrade and improvements to a pedestrian crossing from February 7 to March 4
Princes Street – delays are likely due to a road closure due to Wessex Water works near the Griffin Inn between February 9 and 11
Cotswold Road/Egerton Road – road closure for resurfacing from February 8 to 15 and February 21 to 23
Lower Bristol Road – two-way controls will be in place to allow for the upgrade of a pedestrian crossing
Broadmoor Lane – Wessex Water will shut the road from February 21 to 23 to replace a broken stop tap
Southlands – the road will close from February 14 to 18 and from February 23 to 25 for resurfacing works
Wedgwood Road – closure from February 10 to 15 and from 25 to 28 for resurfacing.
Crescent Gardens – Western Power Distribution is set to conduct planned work between February 25 and March 11
Clarendon Road – a new connection Between Bewdley House and Chapel Cottage will see Wessex Water shut the road from March 15 to 17
Vale View Terrace – Wessex Water will shut the street from February 28 to March 4 for a new connection by 224 High Street, and again from March 21 to 28
Rush Hill – works by Wales & West Utilities Ltd will see multi-way traffic lights in place from March 1 to 4
Hanover Street – the road will shut from March 9 to 11 so Wessex Water can install a stop tap
Bradford Road – work by Network Rail will see a road closure in place from April 19 to May 20
Bailbrook Lane – a new connection installed by Wessex Water approximately 25 metres east of Bailbrook Church will see a road closure from April 27 to 29
York Street – B&NES Council’s roadworks will continue until May 1
North Road – Wessex Water will shut the road from July 18 to August 26 to lay a water main between Silverwood and the Summer House
Queen Square – lights will control traffic flow from September 5 to November 18 to allow for signal refurbishment works at the junction with Gay Street
Jews Lane is set to remain closed until October 19 to allow for drainage and pavement alterations by Wring Group Ltd
