On Friday, 1st February, Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum re-opens its doors for 2019. The volunteers have been busy spring-cleaning the museum from top to bottom, and installing the new major exhibition, which is entitled: “Model Engineering: Micro, Macro and Meccano”.

The museum is now packed with working model railways of all sizes, a ‘ride-on-sized’ model traction engine, multiple Meccano models with push buttons to work them, a huge model of an old aeroplane and more models of all kinds.

The museum volunteers are now finalising a programme of special events for both adults and children, which will run for the duration of the exhibition, from Friday, 1st February to 30th April, and these events will be on the website: www.radstockmuseum.co.uk

Tickets for the museum are all annual and very affordable, so pay once and come back all year and see all the exhibitions as they change. The museum shop and tearoom are open to non-museum visitors during museum opening hours.

There are all kinds of volunteering roles within the museum. If you are interested in volunteering, please email: [email protected]. The museum volunteers are looking forward to welcoming you.
