Silver Street Nature Reserve in Midsomer Norton is one of five parks and green spaces in B&NES to have received a Green Flag Award.

The awards, now celebrating its 20th year, recognise and reward the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

It is the fifth time in a row that Silver Street has been awarded a Green Flag Award thanks to the efforts of the Friends group, which is devoted to looking after the wildlife in the woodland and the meadow and to sharing their knowledge with the residents of Midsomer Norton and visitors alike.

Other green spaces that were given the award are: Royal Victoria Park, Alexandra Park and Bloomfield Green, in Bath and Keynsham Memorial Park.
