Somer Valley Rotary have donated a cheque for £500 to Shoscombe Parish Council towards the cost of the installation of a defibrillator in the old telephone box in St Julian Road, opposite the Primary School.
Rosie Craddock and Grant Thomas were invited to a meeting on 7th August at the Fromeway, Writhlington, to receive the cheque from the new Rotary President, Andy Downes.
Jackie Partridge, of Somer Valley Rotary, said: “Andy’s wife, Mandy, spent many a happy year teaching at this School until fairly recently, and many of our members are also, in one way or
another, connected to the school and the village.”
The village has raised the majority of the amount through various activities, but the donation was very welcome help to the final
figure raised.
