Concerned residents have been in touch with Midsomer Norton Town Council after reading about refurbishments in last week’s Journal.
To clarify, the Town Hall is a Grade 2 listed building, and the walls are not being painted, it is the windows only that are being painted. The exterior is being repaired.
The Town Hall also suffered vandalism last Saturday evening, when the main lamp outside was smashed. Police arrived on the scene shortly afterwards.
Midsomer Norton’s Mayor, Paul Myers, told The Journal: “This was sad, mindless vandalism at a time when we are trying to make this facility better for everyone within the town.”
