Local Lib-Dems have spoken out at the time it is taking for B&NES Council to make a decision on the location for a new Park and Ride.

Councillor Alison Millar (Bathavon North) commented: “The Cabinet has said on

numerous occasions that a decision on the Park and Ride site would be taken this year. Now that the December meeting has been cancelled, this is clearly not going to happen. Is the case for the Park and Ride on the Meadows falling apart?

“There is enormous opposition to building on Bathampton Meadows and the Conservatives need to stop ignoring the strength of public opinion and drop this wholly inappropriate plan. I want to know why consideration is not being given to the concept of link and rides. Why not improve bus services?”

A spokesperson for B&NES responds: “The Council has never formally announced a date for the decision on an East of Bath Park and Ride.

“The Council is giving full consideration to all the evidence and information, and will give notification of the date for the decision in due course.”
