North Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 4pm July 30 to 5pm September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 exit slip - two-way signals for electrical works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9am September 29 to 11am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 to junction 20 - hard shoulder only for structure - maintenance.

M5, from 8pm September 29 to 6am October 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to junction 20 lane closures for improvement/Upgrade scheme.

M5, from 9pm September 29 to 5am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 M5 exit and entry slip lane closures installed by North Somerset Council for A369 The Portbury Hundred resurfacing works.

M5, from 9pm September 29 to 6am December 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to junction 18 lane closures for bridge maintenance.

M5, from 9pm October 3 to 6am October 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 to junction 20 - lane closure for verge/off-road works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
