North Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm October 17 to 5am October 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 to 22 lane closure for vegetation works.

M5, from 9pm October 17 to 6am November 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19 lane closures for surveys.

M5, from 10pm October 17 to 6am November 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 - Lane closures for Structure maintenance.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 10pm October 21 to 6am October 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 lane closure for drainage works.

M5, from 10pm October 26 to 6am October 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit slip closed for drainage, diversion via, junction 20 and back.

M5, from 8pm October 31 to 5am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 to 22 - carriageway closure for Reconstruction/Renewal *diversion via A370 and A38.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
