THIS one day agricultural show, in early one for farmers and stockmen to get their livestock used to the public and all the sights and sounds of such a large show, writes Rosie Sage.
It is a great day out with all the usual entertainment from a one day show and one of the best shopping experiences.
Colin Horler of Radford won the heavy horse in hand championship with his home bred mare, Radford Cilla.
Young rider from Paulton, Holley Lasbury won the reserve championship for coloured horses and ponies at the North Somerset show with her own Tetcott Jimmy. Her sister Darcy Rhymer was placed in one of the mountain and moorland leading rein classes.

The farmers of the Chew Valley were successful with Andrew Tanner of Winford winning the champion and reserve for the any other dual purpose cattle with his sheeted Somerset cattle both of whom would have been home bred.
In the young handler sections, this is where the next generation of farmers, show off their kills handling youngstock, Hannah Payne from Priddy won the beef young handler class for 17 to 26 year olds.

In the sheep section of the show, Katherine Allard of Stanton Drew had a successful day with her longwools. Lisette Smith from Priddy was also a prize winner with her Texels. Kate Lyons from West Harptree won the Butchers’ lamb class.
A spokesperson for the North Somerset Agricultural Show said: “A massive thank you to everybody who attended, to all Exhibitors, Judges, Stewards and everyone involved in this year’s show you made it such a huge success! We had a a great time and hope you did too! We will see you next year!”
The 167th North Somerset Show will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 3, 2027.
