Last month’s picture was taken on Breach Hill, above Chew Valley Lake. The cottage in the photograph is still there, at the entrance to Breach Hill Farm. The identity of the people is not confirmed, as the date is uncertain, although local names included Holbrook, Chapman and Cox.
William and Lily Marks lived there in the 1920s and 1930s, when it was known as “Park Cottage”, as the track in front of it led down to Ubley Park Farm. Does anyone have any more information?

Reader Rosemary Walker kindly contacted the Gazette to say they think the photo could be Greenway House in Hinton Blewett. There certainly are similarities, but the reader who contributed the mystery photograph had family connections on Breach Hill and was clear about the identification.
