Norton Hill School will be eagerly awaiting June 2013 as work begins on building a brand-new £940,000 teaching block.
The new building, which is being built by Seddon Construction, replaces ten temporary 'Pre-fab' classrooms which had been in situ on the site for a long period of time.
The 1,056 sq m, ten-classroom, two-storey building, designed by DKSG Architects, is set for completion in June 2013. Seddon was selected for the scheme by Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership which is a federation made up of Norton Hill School, Somervale School and Midsomer Norton Sixth Form.
"Seddon has a strong track record of delivering high-quality educational facilities combined with extensive experience of working in complex 'live' environments such as schools," says Grant Millar, Business Unit Manager for Seddon Construction. "We are extremely pleased to be working on this new facility for students and teachers at Norton Hill School."
Seddon previously built a sports hall and changing rooms for Norton Hill School in 2006.
Seddon Construction is part of the national Seddon Group, a family-owned company specialising in construction, maintenance and house building.
